Supporting Teachers, Reaching Learners
Since 2023, the International Rescue Committee (IRC), LEGO Foundation and Grundfos Foundation have partnered to encourage learning through play in refugee-hosting communities through the TeachWell initiative. This program aims at improving learning outcomes and wellbeing by fostering teachers’ professional development, improving education policies and creating healthy, safe environments for children across refugee hosting counties in Kenya.

TeachWell is implemented through a consortium led by the International Rescue Committee (IRC), that includes:

- Centre For Mathematics, Science And Technology Education In Africa (CEMASTEA)
At sub-national level, TeachWell collaborates with the County Governments of Turkana and Garissa, including education, health, and water departments.
